With a W/R You can stay alive VERY well around the bugs with only 3 skills. The key is: VIRULENCE = LIFE

Conditions GOOD. I Will Survive at 12 Strength and Melandu's Resiliance at 10 Wilderness give you CONTINUOUS +3 regen per condition.

Bleed a necro scarab, have it plage touched on you. Throw up IWS or MR and you should be at 0 degen/regen. Now they'll hit you with Virulence. 3 more conditions -> 10 degen and 12 regen -> 2 regen net.

I haven't fooled around with this and most likely wont continue to since the drop value doesnt interest me too much.

This build is meant for a minimal group or perhaps solo, a few of the skills can certainly be switched out. THE REPOSITES serve no purpose and were just filling space when I made the build. Dolyak + Watch Yourself! would be better suited.

Hammer warrior (devastating hammer, heavy blow, and counter blow) > scarab queen. With a good MM, she should be dead before she has a chance to stand up.

We tried a 2-man build yesterday and it was working great until they patched it =_=

I was using a 55 hp with PS, Breeze, E-Drain {E}, E-Burn, Spirit Shackles, Mending, Balts, Essence and my friend was a mesmer with Empathy, E-Burn, E-Surge, Sig of Weariness, Wastrel's Worry and a couple other skills.

We ran to there, mixed patrols with the griffons and then pulled the boss with a long bow, we would burn it's energy down to 0 then I would keep Spirit Shackles on the queen while my friend would keep up empathy and spam Wastrel's Worry. It worked great, run took about 10-15 mins depending on our luck with the patrols, but unfortunately they nerfed it : (((( *mad*

I have an easy 2 man build that still works just fine.

Normal (health-wise) monk with Restore Conditions and some healing spells, with mesmer secondary using spirit shackled, energy burn and some other e-denial skills

The skills dont matter TOO much but my monk had:
Restore Condition
Dwana's Kiss
Orison
Healing Touch
Energy Burn
Arcane Thievery
Spirit Shackles
Wastrel's Worry

Warrior set up for spiking bringing Fear Me! to help with e-denial when the time comes

The skills my warrior had were:
Flurry (for use with Fear Me exclusivly to allow for spamming)
Fear Me
Battle Rage
Sever
Gash
Galrath
Final Thurst
Seeking Blade (gets around Guardian every time)

Works like a charm. Easy 2-man farming.

I did it 67 times before finally giving up - that thing just seems to drop to the last person in the group and even then only once every 20 times.

My w/mo had standard solo farming build:

Mending
healing sig
purge conditions
final thrust
hundred blades
gash
sever artery
distracting blow

Took with me a monk and an ss necro or nuker elementalist

Tip 1: the warrior is the tank - let them aggro and hold while the other 2 stay back
Tip 2: because you got purge conditions, spring any remaining traps after you have killed whatever
Tip 3: pull the trappers away from their traps before rushing into kill
Tip 4: (this is my fave) when the time is right - go and aggro the griffons and pull them into the scarabs and let the griffons spring the traps (you can do the same with any close by rockshots too) This is really sweet if the griffon monk boss has spawned because it will last a while and it allows you to attack the queen while the queen is not sure whether to heal self or her brood.
Tip 5: don't purge straight away - wait for the dust to stop before using purge - this way you won't be blinded again
Tip 6: unless someone has render enchantments - don't attack the Queen after she has used her elite skill - wait 10 seconds before attacking again

Personally speaking I think farming her is a waste of time - but be my guest - much easier to go and farm something else and just buy the staff.

LOL and I was pissed after going 4 times with a MM, Rezmer, and me a saccer, and no one getting a drop, my condolences man

I got one on my third attempt, went out alone with henchies. Got the odd purple and gold items from some of the others. After about 15 attempts, still only the one drop.

My tactics work everytime I go and fight, just concetrate on pulling, at some point you will also pull a couple of marrow, if you attack them the queen usually comes out. I just move out a little then attack the marrow and when the queen comes out I'm far enough away not to aggro the others.

I can solo down all her bodyguards and patrols as a necro alone. Rotting flesh + life siphon + life transfer. It's slow but it can be done. This will get her down to herself and one trapper - which is part of her group.

These I can't kill, her heals and CoP are too strong. Any ideas? 5 skills - whatever secondary you want.

2 man build, we made it today

I use melandru's resilience, I will survive, sever artery, gash, apply poison, final thrust, savage slash, troll unguent.
mo/me
mending, watchful spirit, diversion, healing breeze, blessed signet, and thats all I saw casted ^_^

we killed everything from augury rock to the queen (running back and forth to avoid getting hit by the wells)
then lured some griffins to the queen and killed her off, after that we killed the griffins. Got a greeny from the queen

It wasnt insanely fast as we first tried to kill off all the necromancer scarabs (which is costs a lot of time if you want to lure them out without the boss coming)
I'm sure we can do it faster on second try

Still perfecting the build, done 4 runs (2 2-man, 2 4-man), 4 golds 1 green.

I went as my Warrior and just brought distracting blow and disrupting chop for the scarab. We had a nuker who Echoed MeteorShower and a MM with like 14 fiends. EASY.

and i got the green
